Terms & Conditions

General terms and conditions of the association.

1. General

1.1. The association “Justiz und Familienrechtsaufsicht Swiss” (hereinafter the “Association”) is an independent, non-profit association based in Switzerland.

1.2. The purpose of the Association is to promote transparency, oversight, reform and improvement of procedures in the justice and family-law system (child and adult protection).

1.3. These Terms & Conditions govern memberships, the rights and obligations of members, and the general conditions for the Association’s services.

2. Membership

2.1. Types of membership. The Association offers the following memberships:

  • Ordinary membership: for individuals and legal entities who wish to be actively involved.
  • Supporting membership: for individuals or legal entities who wish to support the Association financially.
  • Honorary membership: awarded by the board to individuals with special merits, commitment or contributions.

2.2. Admission. 2.2.1. Membership may be established in writing, verbally and/or through automatic enrolment in the annual membership. 2.2.2. The board decides on the admission of new members. A refusal need not be justified.

2.3. Membership fees. 2.3.1. The Association levies annual membership fees set by the general assembly. The fee is currently set at CHF 120.–. 2.3.2. The fee is payable in advance and is valid for one calendar year. 2.3.3. A refund of the fee upon resignation during the year is excluded.

2.4. Rights and obligations of members. 2.4.1. Members have the right to attend association meetings and submit motions. 2.4.2. Only ordinary members are entitled to vote. 2.4.3. Every member undertakes to support the Association’s objectives and to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

2.5. Termination of membership. 2.5.1. Membership ends through:

  • Voluntary resignation (written notice with one month’s notice to the end of the year; otherwise membership is automatically extended by a further 12 months).
  • Expulsion by the board due to serious violations of the Association’s interests.
  • Death or dissolution (for legal entities).

2.5.2. An expulsion is issued in writing. The member concerned may object within 14 days.

3. Association activities and services

3.1. The Association organises information events, workshops and consultations on justice and family-law topics.

3.2. Members may receive preferential access to certain Association offers.

3.3. The Association does not provide legal advice or representation; it serves exclusively to inform, support and connect with the Association’s partners.

4. Disclaimer of liability

4.1. The Association is not liable for damages arising from the use of its information or services.

4.2. Use of the Association’s offers is at the members’ own risk.

5. Data protection

5.1. Members’ personal data is used solely for the Association’s purposes and is not passed on to third parties.

5.2. Every member has the right to information about the data stored and to its deletion in accordance with the statutory provisions.

6. Final provisions

6.1. Amendments to these Terms & Conditions may only be resolved by the general assembly.

6.2. Should individual provisions of these Terms & Conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

6.3. The place of jurisdiction for disputes is the Association’s registered seat, Zurich.
